I’ve never gotten into Gorillaz. I know they have some very dedicated fans. Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have created an original and unique musical universe. Kudos and a tip of the hat and I respect that a lot. Although I enjoyed spinning this disc this morning, the music just doesn’t speak to me much. Their videos are awesome I must say.

Slant magazine described Gorillaz as “like a cyberpunk movie, it’s futuristic and wistful all at once.”¹
Rhapsody says it’s an “album that’s stubborn, zany, cryptic and poptastic in equal measure.”²
Spin magazine ranked it sixth on its year-end list.³
